Post-Surgical Physical Therapy in West Palm Beach

Surgery repaired the joint. Rehab is what gets your function back. We build your recovery plan around your surgeon's protocol and stay with you for the entire session.

Where Are You in Your Recovery?

Most people who call us after surgery are in one of these four situations.

Surgery is scheduled and you want rehab lined up

You want a plan in place before the operation instead of scrambling for an appointment during your first painful week at home. Starting on time is one of the few parts of recovery you actually control.

You were just discharged with a protocol in hand

Your surgeon gave you restrictions, a weight-bearing status, and a timeline. We build your plan around that document rather than around a generic template.

You are weeks in and progress has stalled

Motion is behind schedule, strength is not coming back, or every visit looks like the same set of exercises. Switching clinics mid-recovery is allowed, and it is often the right call.

You finished therapy but

the strength never returned

The joint moves fine and you still cannot trust it on stairs or under load. That gap usually means the strength phase got cut short.

Not sure which one fits you? Call us (561) 834-3330 and we will tell you straight.

How Physical Therapy Works After Surgery

Surgery fixes the structure. It does not restore the motion, the strength, or the movement patterns you lost around it.

After an operation the joint stiffens quickly, the muscle around it shuts down and shrinks faster than most people expect, and the way you walk or reach changes to protect the repair. Left alone, those changes settle in and become the new normal.

Post-surgical physical therapy reverses them in order. Protect the repair and restore motion first. Rebuild strength second. Retrain the movement last, so it holds up under stairs, work, and everything else you did before.

The sequence matters and so does the timing. Push too hard too early and you put the repair at risk. Wait too long and you spend months chasing range of motion you could have kept.

What a Full Recovery Gives You Back

Reduce pain and swelling

Rebuild muscle strength and endurance

Prevent stiffness and scar tissue restrictions

Return safely to work, daily activity, or sport

Restore joint motion and flexibility

Improve balance and coordination

Walk, climb stairs, and reach with confidence

Surgeries We Rehabilitate

We rehabilitate patients after a wide range of orthopedic procedures. These are the ones we see most often.

Do not see your procedure here? Call us. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for your case.

What Your Rehab Plan Looks Like

No guesswork and no rotating staff. Here is the actual sequence.

Evaluation and baseline measurements

We start with a full evaluation. We measure your range of motion, strength, swelling, and how you move, and we write those numbers down so your progress is measured rather than estimated.

Your plan built around your surgeon's protocol

We read your surgeon's instructions before we build anything. Your restrictions, weight-bearing status, and timeline set the limits, and your plan gets built inside them.

Hands-on sessions with the same therapist

Every visit combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional training. You work with the same doctor of physical therapy each time, so nobody is relearning your case from a chart.

Progression and return to activity

We remeasure as you improve and advance the plan when your body is ready. Later stages add strength work, neuromuscular re-education, balance and gait training, and a home program you can actually keep up with.

Dr. Cabezas to supply a specific line here about how MotionPro handles the first post-op evaluation. Suggested shape: "In our experience, most patients arrive without a clear picture of where they actually stand, which is why we measure everything on day one and show you the numbers." Replace with the clinic's real observation before publishing.

We Follow Your Surgeon's Protocol

Most patients arrive holding a sheet of paper from their surgeon and quietly worried that a new clinic will ignore it. That concern is fair. It is also the first thing we take off the table.

Your protocol sets the rules for your recovery. It tells us what the repair can tolerate, when you are cleared to load it, and what has to wait. We work inside those limits, and when your progress suggests the plan should change, that is a conversation with your surgeon rather than a decision we make on our own.

What Post-Surgical Physical Therapy Costs and How Payment Works

We will be direct with you, because most clinics are not.

MotionPro does not accept insurance. We are a cash-pay practice, and post-surgical rehabilitation is delivered as a full physical therapy plan rather than sold by the visit.

Here is what that buys you. Your appointment is one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy for the entire session. You see the same therapist every visit. There is no rotating staff, no shared floor time, and no session cut short because three other patients are waiting on the same clock.

That matters more after surgery than at almost any other point in rehab. The early weeks have a window, and hands-on time inside that window is what determines how much motion and strength you get back.

In our experience, patients ask about insurance early and many still choose to work with us once they understand what a session actually includes and how much faster progress moves when someone is watching the whole time.

Call (561) 834-3330 and we will walk you through current rates and what your plan would look like.

Why Patients Choose MotionPro After Surgery

Plenty of clinics in this area will tell you they do one-on-one care. Ask what that actually means during your session.

At MotionPro it means the doctor of physical therapy who evaluated you is the one working with you, for the full appointment, every visit, from evaluation to discharge. Not a therapist who sets you up and moves to the next room. Not a technician running you through a printed sheet while the therapist charts across the floor.

After surgery, that difference shows up in your results. Range of motion is won in the hands-on portion of the session. Strength returns when someone is correcting your form and adjusting the load based on what your body is doing that day, not what week four is supposed to look like on paper.

Our patients range from people in their thirties rebuilding after a sports repair to people in their seventies recovering from a joint replacement. The plan changes for every one of them. The level of attention does not.

What Our Patients Say

I have been to many physiotherapists over the years with a wide range of experiences. MotionPro Physical Therapy was absolutely the best by far. Appointments are 1 hour of dedicated time and individual attention. The therapists are truly skilled and the exercises and other treatments they apply (such as stretching and/or massage for exampled) are based on the patient's individual needs. The care is truly outstanding and the results I got were exceptional.
