Is BFR Therapy Right for Your Recovery?
Most people who come to us for BFR therapy are in one of these four situations.
After knee or hip surgery
You were told to protect the joint, and now the muscle around it is disappearing. BFR helps you rebuild strength without loading the repair.
Cleared for therapy but not ready to load the joint
You are allowed to move, just not to lift heavy. That gap is exactly where BFR does its best work.
Losing strength in a leg or arm
Weakness after time off, illness, or a long stretch of limited activity. Light exercise alone does not reverse it. BFR changes that.
Getting back to sport or daily activity
You need strength back sooner, without setting yourself back with too much load too early.
Not sure which one fits you? Call us (561) 834-3330 and we will tell you straight.

What Is Blood Flow Restriction Therapy?
Blood Flow Restriction therapy is a rehabilitation technique that helps you build muscle strength using much lighter weights than traditional strength training requires.
We apply a specialized cuff to your arm or leg during exercise. The cuff partially restricts blood flow, which makes the muscle work as though it is lifting heavy, while the actual load on your joints and healing tissue stays low.
That is the whole point. You get the strength response of hard training without the strain that your body is not ready for yet.
BFR therapy is especially useful after surgery or injury, or with conditions that make heavy resistance training difficult or unsafe.
What BFR Therapy Helps You Do
Build muscle strength
Improve muscle size and endurance
Improve mobility and performance
Return safely to work, daily activity, or sport
Reduce muscle loss after injury or surgery
Recover function faster
Strengthen muscle while protecting your joints
Conditions We Use BFR Therapy For
BFR therapy is used as part of a larger rehabilitation plan. These are the cases where we see it fit best.
Do not see your condition here? Call us. BFR is not right for every case, and we will tell you if it is not right for yours.

What a BFR Session Looks Like
No guesswork and no equipment you have never seen before. Here is the actual sequence.
Evaluation and screening
We start with a full evaluation. We review your medical history, your current condition, and your goals, and we decide together whether BFR belongs in your plan at all.
Setting your cuff pressure
Your physical therapist measures the correct cuff pressure for your limb. This step is what makes the treatment both safe and effective, and it is specific to you rather than a fixed setting.
Low-load exercise with monitoring
You perform light therapeutic exercises while wearing the cuff. Throughout the session, your therapist monitors your comfort, your circulation, and how you are responding.
Progression from session to session
As you get stronger, the program moves forward. Your plan may include functional movement training, neuromuscular reeducation, balance and stability work, and home exercises when appropriate.
In our clinic, the therapist who measures your pressure is the same therapist who stays with you for the entire session. We do not set you up and walk away.

Request a Callback Within 24 Hours
Tell us a bit about what you are recovering from. We will call you back within 24 hours and let you know whether BFR therapy makes sense for your situation.
Is BFR Therapy Safe?
Who is typically a good candidate
-
Recovering from orthopedic surgery
-
Cleared for physical therapy but restricted from heavy loading
-
Dealing with muscle loss after injury or inactivity
-
Managing joint pain that limits traditional strength training
-
Working to return to sport or daily activity
Who needs medical clearance first
Some conditions require review with your physician before we begin. We screen for these during your evaluation, and if BFR is not appropriate for you, we will say so and build your plan another way.
It is a fair question, and it is the one we hear most. Restricting blood flow sounds more dramatic than it is.
When BFR is applied by a licensed physical therapist, with pressure measured for your limb and monitored throughout the session, it is a well-established rehabilitation technique. What makes it safe is the screening beforehand and the supervision during. That is why we do not sell it as a standalone add-on.

What It Costs and How Payment Works
We will be direct with you, because most clinics are not.
MotionPro does not accept insurance. We are a cash-pay practice, and BFR therapy is delivered as part of a physical therapy plan rather than sold as a separate session.
Here is what that buys you. Your appointment is one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy for the full session. You see the same therapist every visit, so nobody is relearning your case from a chart. There is no rotating staff, no shared floor time, and no session cut short because three other patients are waiting.
In our experience, patients ask about insurance early and many still choose to work with us once they understand what the sessions actually include and how much faster progress tends to move when someone is paying attention the whole time.
Call (561) 834-3330 and we will walk you through current rates and what your plan would look like.
Why Patients Choose MotionPro for BFR Therapy
BFR is not a machine you sit at. It is a treatment that depends on the person applying it.
Cuff pressure has to be set for your limb. Your response has to be watched during the session. Load and progression have to be adjusted based on what your body is actually doing that day, not what a protocol says week four should look like.
Many practices in the area book patients in overlapping blocks and hand that work to a technician. We built this clinic the opposite way. One patient at a time, in a quiet space, with the same doctor of physical therapy from evaluation to discharge.
Our patients range from people in their thirties working back from a sports injury to people in their seventies rebuilding strength after a joint replacement. The treatment plan changes for each of them. The level of attention does not.
